EXCITED, GIDDY, CARTWHEELS

I am so excited, nervous, giddy, silly . . . .whatever the words are. I need to tell you . . .

I just need to say this quickly because I am so EXCITED. I want to POP. I want to do a CARTWHEEL.

I collected my key for my business premises today.
I haven't really talked about this much. The ideas have been brewing in our house for around 6 months. I didn't want to jinx my ideas,  my opportunities and my plans, so I stayed ssshhhhhhtummm about it.

I finished work back in October and was looking for the right premises, with the right incentives for the right price (of course) to start my pottery painting studio.

We bought a kiln, which is situated in my garage, and I did a practice pottery painting party for my daughter in January, for 23 children. It was a big test but we came out the other end ok!!
This is one of the pieces that was created on the day.  My daughter printed her hand onto the centre of the platter and all her friends made a thumb print around the outside. It is such a great keepsake.

The story started in August when we stayed in beautiful Cumbria and visited a pottery painting place. We took the kids and they loved it and it sparked ambition inside of me. Shrewsbury doesn't have a pottery painting studio, where you can pop in and paint a ceramic piece for your self or gift. We all found this activity therapeutic and calming.

A seed was planted and here we are . . .

My own little view of Shrewsbury from my very own little shop . . . GIDDY.

More very soon . . .

Rainbow time

Hi,

Just a quick post. I have birthdays,  bags n new premises to catch up on later. Such fun . . .

I dug out the granny stripe blanket that I had been working on last year and began a few more rows.
Then I had an idea, how would a layered flower look in these vibrant colours.

Well, here it is. . . I need to find  a home for this colourful beauty.

New bag style

Hi. I fancied making a new bag style. I researched styles based on my fabric stash. I found this little cutie pattern from michellepatterns.com.
I thought I was getting a bargain at £3.09 for the pattern, but I realised there wasn't any sewing instructions. The instructions were with a larger for $10.
Good job I'm an experienced sewer and I made it up as I went along.

Anyway, it turned out really well and I tweaked the fastenings too.

I have more plans for this cutie.

Love is in the air x

Hi y'all

I've been busy this week making last minute valentines crafts. I never get into the whole valentines fever thing, but, the big man of the house is in Portugal this week on business, so I've been home alone with the little girl and little man of the house. Of course the little man thinks he's the boss at the moment. Terrible two's is still visiting a year later!!!

My first craft was my valentines cards:

I make these cards with birds, flowers and houses for special occasions. I'm not sure if I've posted about these, Christmas time was so busy in the crafty nook. So here they are anyway:

I can never make these cards quick enough, they sell like hot cakes!!

When I saw forgetmenotblues heart bunting, I was inspired to do something similar, So, I dug out my needle felting kit again and made a felted heart garland. I think it just finishes off the mantle piece quite nicely, maybe I will leave it up!!

Two sweet cushion covers. I am so trying to use the fabrics up, to reduce my stash. So I made a couple of scrappy cushions too.

I made a heart shape with a cardboard tube, but they ended up looking like bottoms (tee hee). The kids didn't see it, but, made me chuckle!!!

You may have also seen the crochet cushion on google+. I was sorting my yarn stash out and found some dark grey squares, about a dozen. I can't remember making these up, but it was a bonus!

I am thinking of starting my own little crochet challenge . . . a granny a day. I would like to crochet a granny square every day, of different sizes, and put them together to make a quilt and donate to a charity to raffle off.

I have some very exciting news hopefully coming soon. I will hopefully be signing the lease on my premises for my pottery painting studio. I haven't mentioned this much, because everything is still up in the air. But, all exciting!!

Rainy days

What a miserable day. The rain poured and poured. The only way to spend it is in doors, all cosy.
I just want to say that my heart goes out to those across the UK who are experiencing severe flooding ♥

I had the day to myself,  so I did a bit more felting practice. Any one would think I have a cleaner, erm no I don't,  I just do a quick tidy n hope that will do!!

Here they are . . .
Toadstool and mousey &
Dandelion clock

I am quite pleased with these, especially with the fact that I sold the toadstool one already today.

Flat felting

Hi all.

Just a quick post to show you my first attempt at flat needle felting. I know it's not perfect, but what does practice make?

I cheated a little and used a wool mix felt sheet to practice my design on.

I chose flowers because I feel they are always a good starting point in any craft. I would love to do landscape scenery eventually.  There are some very talented people out there and I have seen some amazing pieces of

I am now addicted. Oh no . . .

I have also made some 3D felted items, which I will show you soon.

Patience quilt dusted off.

Due to the new arrival of a cosy rug in our house.  I dug out my first ever patchwork quilt I made.

It's a bit dodgy in places, but it looks pretty good from a distance!!

I have had to do some running repairs on it. It's good as new(ish)!!!

Hopefully it will last a few more years.
