New book

I saw this book at a bargain price at my local Tk maxx store. Its got some really  cute things in for kids. I will be making some new projects, probably closer to autumn/winter. But, the way the summer weather is it might be sooner!!! Watch this space xxx

While they sleep

While the little ones were sleeping, I decorated their playhouse with solar powered fairy lights.

Its not the best picture but Its the best I could get.

They probably won't get to see the full effect until autumn because the sun sets so late, they are dreaming away before it gets dark.

I love the playhouse more than they do. I would have loved one of these as a child xxx

Poor lil caravan :-(

BIG sigh. Our poor lil caravan is in need of some serious tic. We have had our little van for 5 years and inbetween that time we have had two children. We have used it a lot and considering its nearly 30 years old its not doing too bad.
Anyway, we brought onto our drive to update it. I wanted to give it a lick of paint, make some curtains and recover the sets. Ah o, I was taking a look only to discover a disaster. The lil van had been leaking above the door, boo hoo. We have had a local guy to look at it, and if we are willing to put in the work, we can gut it, remove the damaged wood and replace it. Luckily the we have a carpenter in the family and is willing to help out. So, watch this for this lil caravans renovation log :-) xxx

Keeping it tidy

Because the kids want one each (so 2 of everything), I was fed up of tripping over their gardening tools. So, I screwed hooks into the side of their playhouse to hang their tools on.
I am a bit of a storage freak, so if I find some sort of used wooden upright storage box, il be having it . . . At the right price!

I love how the sunset has given the playhouse a warm orange glow :-) Xxx

Cold grass on a hot day

I just love the feel of cold grass on my hot feet. I love to walk around the garden with no shoes, quite liberating in a way!!!'

Planter or a dolls bed?

The item that has the flowers in, I bought from a florist in town for a bargain £8. But, I couldn't decide if it was a planter or a dolls bed/cot.
Anyway, it is now a planter outside the kids playhouse. I think it looks sweet under the window. Neither of my two really play with dolls, so I thought I would be put to better use in the garden! Xxx

Lists for lists

Don't you ever find you make a 'to do list', but then each item on that list has a list to itself.
So I set to tackle 'the list', which I had put off all week.
I started with the one that I hate doing . . . The garden, specifically the over grown area that is under the apple tree and raspberry plants - where the fairies live!
I start by strimming the metre high weeds, which created another job (going to the tip).
Mmmmm, by then I'm sweating buckets. I hate gardening, I just don't have the inspiration, give me a sewing machine any day.
I couldn't face digging the soil over, maybe at the weekend!!
I also sorted the recycling tubs out (another job, that  wasn't on my list!!) and took all that to the tip too. This is usually the mans job, but if he can do it, I can!!

Its not that best looking area of garden, but you didn't see it before!!!!

After all that, I sat down with a cuppa and treated myself to a spot of crocheting :-) xxx

Neck warmer

Not quite sure why I've made a crocheted neck warmer in the middle of summer. Maybe I'm not too optimistic for the weather!!! Its lovely & snuggly anyway :-) I used a tutorial from the fab blog of Attic 24 Xxx

Wakey Wakey

Mmmm nothing like fresh coffee first thing in the morning. I need a gallon with my two kids in the morning!!!! Xxx

Two projects on the go.

So I don't get bored, I usually have two projects on the go. At the moment I have the granny stripe blanket and this neck warmer. Both patterns are from the brilliant Lucy at Attic 24. Take a look if you love crochet, loads of inspiration and addictive!!!! Xxx

Happy fathers day - Victoria sponge

I usually make cakes and they are flat, so I doubled my mixture and added a touch of baking powder. Wow o wow. Best Victoria sponge I ever have and Will make!!!

Love this

I found this little poster in town yesterday. It looks like our little 1980's caravan. I loooove it.
I'm just hoping our little van can be repaired so we can go off in it ;-/ Xxx
