Away with the fairies

What a busy weekend.
For some reason I have gone garden design crazy!
The area in this picture is at the bottom of my garden. I put a picture on my bloggers a few weeks ago about strimming the weeds.
Well, I had this burst of energy to blitz this area. It is actually 5 metres wide.
So, again, I strimmed all the weeds to ground level, covered in some weed prevention sheeting stuff (which was a little like patchwork!!!) and then threw down 5 bags of mulch.
I worked quickly on this little project and when I got to the opposite side of the apple tree, I found the rhubarb plant.
I bet your thinking, how can you lose a rhubarb plant. Well, we did but that's another post!!

Whilst I was bending down I looked to my right and found this amazing old curved iron fencing. It used to be in the front garden on a wall, but it got pulled down . . . Criminal I know, but it had something to do with a men and their cars, say no more!!!

Anyway, my 5 year old daughter has been asking for a fairy garden, so she got one, well the start of one, under the apple tree.

The little toadstool is actually a birdfeeder, but I thought it would be great for a make belief fairy house.
So, that led to my daughter asking what do fairies eat and drink.
Believe it or not, there is no end of information about this topic, I just skImmed it quickly and came to the conclusion it's sweet fruit and nuts and morning dew from grass!!!

Aww how cute! I do want to point out I don't actually believe in fairies, but I do encourage the imagination in my kids!!!

So come back and see what is new in the fairy garden!!!

Xxx
