Happy pots

Hi

I was in my local Morrison this week when I spotted these funky daff bulbs in yellow pots.
I get these every year because they sell them for just 66p each, we all love a bargain.

Anyway, I had some inspiration from Lucy at Attic24 and my new crochet book 'Simply stitches: crochet' by Carol Meldrum. It has a beautiful crochet hook case, in rainbow colours.

I didn't follow a pattern. I basically made a chain a couple of stitches smaller than the width if the pot and dc'd in rows. Changing the colours when I felt like it. I also finished off with a shell edging and stitched it together at  the sides.

EaSy :-)

One for me and one for our childminder. I just love giving home made gifts (and she loves receiving them!!)

These are additive and WILL be making more.

Now I have to go and get my first batch of pots out of the kiln, I know they aren't great because the glaze was too thick. But better to do that on my practice pieces. Post about it later. . . disasters and all!!!

Back soon

One of my W.I.P's

Twice in one day, whatever next!!

Anyway, you may remember that back in October I bought this lovely yarn to make lil man a cosy hooded jacket. The pattern was from Simply Crochet, issue 11.

I will do a lil review so far: the pattern is repetitive and simple, so quick to work up. The only issue is the hood doesn't seem deep enough.

I only have one sleeve to crochet then I have to make it up.

Fingers crossed it looks n washes well. There is nothing worse than it not washing well . .

Homemade potting bench

All the best for 2014 everybody. I didn't even get chance to say Merry Christmas.

A lot has happened since my last post. I haven't had time to use the internet!! Its all go go go.
My other half says my moto is 'I ran out of time' !!!
I might be able to catch up with all that soon.

This post is to show you what I have made today. I made it from an unused pallet that my 'new kiln' arrived on (another exciting post story) .

I am determined to be a better gardener this year, so this is a potting bench.

I love how it turned out.
All it needs is a plane n a lick of paint, blue maybe, my favourite colour. It's more shabby than chic, but hey ho. It will serve its purpose, hopefully!!

My partner just doesn't have the vision to reuse or refashion, so this kind of project is down to me.

I am on the look out for some  quirky hooks n nik naks for it. I may even nail some bright oversized buttons mmmm!!!
