Cardigan

Hello

I finished this cardigan project a few weeks ago, but forgot to update you all.

I enjoyed this make but it came with issues. Making up was an issue,  I had to ease in (is that just a sewing term??) alot of the seams together. I don't think it was the pattern.

All you experts out there will clearly see that it's not quite right.
But, I dont think its too bad for my first attempt at clothing.

Practice makes perfect . . . Right????

I would love to put wooden toggles on the front, but to get this cardigan anywhere near my lil boy, tractor buttons it had to be!!!

If anything it will keep him warm at home!

Toasting my feet in Ludlow

Hello

This is my birthday weekend!! Whoop whoop.

* Does anybody else do that?
* Am I getting a bit old to be dedicating a whole weekend to your birthday?
* How long will I get away with it?

Anyway, my friend offered to have the kids, so we decided to take a trip to lovely Ludlow. I have only travelled through it with work.

The weather was so wet and cold when we arrived we headed straight to a pub and had lunch.
Luckily the pub wasn't busy and we managed to get next to the fire . . . bonus.
My boots had been leaking the horrible wet rain in, so sneakily I took them off n toasted my wet feet by the fire!!!

Then lunch, mmmmm pub grub!!

Rain rain go away, I want to look that these beautiful period buildings without wet eyes!

The remains of Ludlow castle. The rain stopped for a few minutes and the sun looks amazing shining on the entrance of the castle entrance. Almost saying, come in, come in, it is meant to be. Unfortuntaley, we were limited on time so we didn't go inside today, but we will return with the little people on a drier day.

Who goes to Ludlow and buys a beautiful persian rug? Yes, me.
It was sooooo expensive, I feel so sick thinking about it, but we did get a good deal (hopefully) and it looks so beautiful on my bare floor boards. it will be apart of our home forever.

Another treat when I got home, the latest issue of Simply crochet was in my porch. I love this button that came with it . I can't wait to read it eeekkkkk. Excited!

This isn't a great picture but this a pressie off my two sweet peas for my birthday. A sweet cotton tunic.I love the fabric print, it reminds me of a Liberty print. All we need now is the sun . . .

One of my W.I.P's

Twice in one day, whatever next!!

Anyway, you may remember that back in October I bought this lovely yarn to make lil man a cosy hooded jacket. The pattern was from Simply Crochet, issue 11.

I will do a lil review so far: the pattern is repetitive and simple, so quick to work up. The only issue is the hood doesn't seem deep enough.

I only have one sleeve to crochet then I have to make it up.

Fingers crossed it looks n washes well. There is nothing worse than it not washing well . .

Mandala pattern from Simply crochet, Issue 9

You can see, the Mandala didn't quite work out well!!!!
The circles are easy. I don't know where I went wrong.
Would be useful if anyone else has tried it.

I Will try it again, but not with my new yarn!!!

P.s yes, tut tut I don't darn my ends in until the end, bad habits die hard!!
